Commonweath fencing chanpiononships

Competition Judges, Helen Smith, Andrew Ius, Simon Auty and Bill Ronald announced the winner saying that:

Sam's winning design was one of many excellent designs received and we thank all who used their impressive talent to submit an outstanding array of designs. Sam's came through in first place for its visual impact and in best satisfying all aspects of the competition design brief. We think its vitality and colour will truly reflect these championships.

This is a personal advice to confirm your success and to ensure that you are comfortable with the conditions:

The prize? Your graphic ability will be displayed to a Commonwealth audience! You will receive a certificate of appreciation and you will be published. We will also throw in an entry to an AFF event in 2010 or 2011 and a “T” shirt from your design. Of course the major prize is that you will feel so good about it!!!

This one I made for the club was for the the O week at the university to be posted about the place and had to be eye catching and with a inferred movement.

this is another front/backof a art exhibition , this one for the 2nd year dip' classers I was in.
I scaned the spine of a art journal and of some study note paper and pushed them adjust colour than added some more fake perforations as well.
and than added some fake rego marks at the top .
it was well reseved.

I hand drew the sword in two parts and it took quite a bit of practice to nail the shape I wanted

a tafe exercise.. all imagers deep cut and colour ballanced.
Bg is a ink wash scan and clolour fixed. frist scaned it in asif it was a line art... 30mins and a coffee and a bun later it came on to Ps where I changed it to a resiution ... more work able
